Why Science Literacy Week Matters
As someone who’s spent years nurturing young scientists through hands-on discovery, We’ve learned that curiosity isn’t something to be taught. It’s something to be unleashed. Children arrive in the world bursting with questions and wonder. Our job as educators and communities is to protect that spark and give it space to grow.
This year’s theme, Curiosity Unleashed, feels particularly vital. In an age of screens and structured schedules, we’re seeing curiosity squeezed out by curriculum boxes and test scores. Science Literacy Week is a reminder that real scientific thinking—the kind that builds problem-solvers, critical thinkers, and confident learners—begins with genuine, messy, wonderful questions.
