Christmas Science Saturday: Light Up Christmas, Saturday 5 December 2026, 3:30pm to 4:20pm
Vous préférez le français ? Cette séance est aussi animée en français. Cliquez sur le bandeau violet en bas de cette page pour tout lire en français.
Light Up Christmas is the second session of Christmas Science Saturday on 5 December in Luxembourg City, and it’s powered by fruit and veg. Your child learns how a battery works, then lights an LED with a lemon and a potato. Also, every experiment is explained in both English and French, so your child works in whichever language feels easiest.
- Date: Saturday 5 December 2026, 3:30pm to 4:20pm
- Also running: Christmas Crystals and Snowballs at 2:30pm and Snowball Catapults at 4:30pm. They’re different sessions, and each one is booked separately, so book one, two or all three.
- Ages: 5 to 11
- Venue: The Office Charlotte, 29 Boulevard Grande-Duchesse Charlotte, L-1331 Luxembourg
- Places: limited
- Cost: €30 per child per session, paid when you book
What your child will do
First, your child finds out how a battery works. Inside it, chemical energy turns into electrical energy. Next, they build a lemon light bulb, where the lemon powers an LED. Then they make a potato battery and power the LED again. Finally, they test lemon versus potato to see which gives more power. Everyone takes home a Junior Einsteins sticker.
Drop-off, and what we provide
Drop your child off at 3:30pm and collect them at 4:20pm. You don’t need to stay. We provide a lab coat and safety goggles, so there’s nothing to bring. The coat and goggles stay with us when the session ends.
Reserve your place
As soon as you’re ready, reserve your child’s place with the booking button on this page. Places are limited, so it’s best to book early. Got a question? Then email luxembourg@junioreinsteinsscienceclub.com or call +352 621 888 799.
