Junior Class runs Mondays 1:30pm -2:30pm in the Committee Room for boys & girls from Junior Infants, Senior Infants & 1st class girls of Belgrove Junior School who finish at 1:30pm.

Term 1:   Starts 19th September & runs weekly every Monday until 21st November. €125 per child.

Children are supplied with lab coats & goggles. They make their own experiments! Hands on, fun STEM learning. Award winning science club program. Check out our awards lists on our home page! After school club 

Topics:

Week 1: Slime Science: Non Newtonian fluids & cross linking polymers.Make your own slime monsters!

Week 2: Blubber Gloves & Coke Mentos Explosions. Learn about Arctic animal adaptations & create a nucleation eruption that shoots 17ft in the sky with our geysers!!

Week 3: Plasma Ball – Lets make a lightsabre with our Tesla coil like plasma ball. Conductors & insulators, open & closed circuits with electricity glow sticks!

Week 4: Cartoon Capers- Optical illusions- how the eye tricks the brain. We use praxinoscopes, zoetropes & thaumatropes to observe some amazing illusions & make our very own cartoon capers

Week 5: Marble Run- Children gain an understanding of Velocity, Speed & Momentum – phenomenal physics!

Week 6: Engineering Bridges – lets test shapes & materials to engineer a bridge design

Week 7: Van Der Graaf Generator- Barbie gets a hair raising experience, sparks of lightning, flying Alien saucers & static electricity

Week 8: Bernoullis Flying Machines – the principles of light, aviation – lets build a flying model glider!

Week 9: Lava Lamps – density & viscosity

Week 10: Rainbow Science – Newtons colour wheel, can we turn 7 colours into one? Light diffraction glasses

We are proud of our Award-winning hands- on STEM for kids ! Everything we do here at Junior Einsteins Science Club® is because we are passionate about bringing STEM to young children in a fun filled high energy way.  Our events are very child-centric and all of our children are our ‘Junior Einsteins’ ! We nurture children’s natural curiosity & creativity. We inspire our ‘Junior Einsteins’ to use their imaginations, make a mess, explore and discover. We do this through fantastic interactive experiments from slime making children learn about long chain polymerisation and Non-Newtonian fluids. A Barbie Doll gets a hair raising experience on a Van Der Graaf generator while children learn about voltage and current. Lighting a light sabre with a plasma ball we learn how electricity flows! We inspire our ‘Junior Einsteins to explore a broad range of STEM subjects learning by doing; Fossil making, Forensics, Arctic Animal Adaptations, Classification of Life, Rocket Races, Bug Hunts, Illusions and how cartoons are made, Geology and Volcanoes, Bernoulli’s effect and how planes fly, marine biology, quantum physics using Nerf guns. Microbiology, Chemistry ;  PH Purple Power & Exothermic reactions making elephant’s toothpaste, Magnets, Light, Anatomy ,Engineering , covering STEM & STEAM areas. Learning through tons of fun!
