Celebrating International Day of Women and Girls in Science with Junior Einsteins Science Club
Today, February 11th, marks the International Day of Women and Girls in Science, a day dedicated to promoting full and equal access for women and girls in STEM fields. The initiative, established by the United Nations, acknowledges the critical role of women and girls in advancing science and technology, while working to break down the barriers that continue to hinder gender equality in STEM industries worldwide.
At Junior Einsteins Science Club, we are proud to be part of this global movement. We extend our heartfelt thanks to all our incredible female franchisees and science instructors who inspire and empower the next generation every single day. Through engaging, hands-on STEM activities, you spark curiosity and excitement in young girls, giving them the confidence to pursue dreams in science and technology.
Our founder, Tracey-Jane Cassidy MA MSc, was honoured to speak at the United Nations Headquarters in New York on International Women and Girls in Science Day 2020. During her address, she shared the impactful work we do at Junior Einsteins, where girls are encouraged to think critically, experiment boldly, and discover that they, too, can become future leaders in STEM.
As the UN points out, science and gender equality are crucial to achieving development goals around the world. Yet women and girls continue to face significant obstacles. By creating welcoming, inclusive environments through initiatives like Junior Einsteins Science Club, we aim to play a role in changing that narrative.
To our amazing team: your efforts are not just building a love for science—they are building a brighter future. We are immensely proud of all the ‘Junior Einsteins’ you’ve inspired and continue to inspire to become Girls in STEM and ultimately Women in STEM.
Together, let’s celebrate this day by reaffirming our commitment to STEM education and gender equality. Here’s to inspiring more girls to discover that science is for everyone!
