Celebrating Double Recognition at the Business Post Women in STEM Awards 2025

I’m deeply honoured to be shortlisted for two categories at the Business Post Women in STEM Summit & Awards 2025Science and STEM Mentor of the Year. To be recognised alongside Ireland’s most inspiring scientists, educators, and innovators is both humbling and energising.Celebrating Double Recognition at the Business Post Women in STEM Awards 2025

At Junior Einsteins Science Club Ltd.®, we believe that every child is born a scientist. Curiosity is in our DNA. This nomination is not just a personal milestone, it’s a celebration of the passionate global team behind Junior Einsteins, who bring hands-on science learning to life every day in schools, camps, and clubs across Ireland, the UK, Canada, the Middle East and beyond.

Our mission has always been simple but powerful,  to make science accessible, exciting, and fun for all children, no matter where they live. Through experiments that fizz, bubble, fly, and spark, we nurture the next generation of curious thinkers, problem solvers, and innovators. To see this work recognised on a national stage reminds me why we started in the first place – to inspire children to ask “why?”, to explore, and to keep experimenting.

The STEM Mentor of the Year shortlist holds special meaning for me. Mentorship is at the heart of everything I do,  from guiding new Junior Einsteins franchise owners and licience holders, international schools to helping teachers and young women and girls step into STEM leadership roles with confidence. I’ve been lucky to have incredible mentors throughout my own career, and I take real joy in paying that forward.

The Science category nomination celebrates the innovative educational work that underpins our programmes. Science isn’t a subject to be memorised, it’s an adventure to be lived. Every slime made, rocket launched, or circuit built reminds me that education can and should be thrilling.

I hold two Master’s degrees in science, one in Natural Science from Trinity College Dublin and another in Medical Microbiology – from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine and my journey has been anything but straightforward. As a single mum who built a business from the ground up, I’ve faced every challenge possible, from late nights and financial strain to the balancing act of raising children while scaling a global education company. But every obstacle strengthened my determination to prove that passion, resilience, and purpose can build something meaningful.

Junior Einsteins Science Club® grew out of that belief, that science should belong to everyone, and that creativity and curiosity can change the world. This nomination is a reflection of that mission and of every child, parent, and teacher who has shared in our journey so far.

I’m also proud to stand alongside an extraordinary list of nominees from across academia, research, and industry. Each one represents the best of what Ireland has to offer, bright minds shaping our shared future through discovery, teaching, and impact.

A heartfelt thank you to the Business Post Women in STEM Awards team and the sponsors for creating this platform that recognises not just scientific achievement, but the people who lift others as they rise.

Congratulations to all the nominees,  it’s an real honour to be among such brilliant company.
