    Competition 2025

    A Festive STEM Challenge for Primary School Children Across Birmingham & The Black Country

    If you’re looking for a fun, creative and educational activity to keep little ones busy this festive season, we’ve got something sp

    ecial lined up. Whether you’re a parent searching for a weekend project or a teacher planning a Christmas classroom activity, our Christmas STEM Competition 2025 is now officially open — and we can’t wait to see what young minds will create!

    🎅 Build a Santa STEM Sleigh!

    This year’s challenge is all about imagination, problem-solving and festive fun.
    We’re inviting all primary school children in Birmingham and The Black Country to design and build their very own Santa STEM Sleigh.

    The rules are simple — and deliberately flexible.
    Children can use recyclable materials to build a sleigh that can move, slide, or roll. It can be cute, quirky, scientific, sparkly, or all of the above. The aim is to encourage creativity, curiosity, and hands-on learning through play.

    This activity works brilliantly as:

    • A weekend or after-school project

    • A home-learning challenge

    • A whole-class festive STEM activity

    We love seeing how differently children interpret the theme every year!

    📸 How to Enter

    Entering the competition is easy. Once your sleigh is built, simply send us a photo or short video.

    Please use the subject line: Individual Entry or School Entry

    For Individual Entries

    Send a photo or video of the finished sleigh and include:

    • Your child’s first name

    • Their year group
      (These can also be written next to the model in the photo.)

    For Schools

    Teachers are welcome to send:

    • 5–10 selected entries, or

    • All entries together as a batch
      Names and year groups can be attached or written next to each sleigh.

    And don’t forget to include your school’s name and location.

    We’ve designed the submission process to be quick and low-admin — perfect for busy classrooms at this time of year.

    🏆 Prizes Up for Grabs!

    To add an extra sprinkle of excitement, we’re awarding prizes to both an individual winner and a winning school.

    ⭐ Individual Winner

    The strongest individual entry will receive a Science Goodie Bag, including:

    • A Junior Einsteins lab coat

    • An energy rod science toy

    • A selection of fun STEM surprises

    ⭐ Winning School

    One school will receive a FREE 15-minute Science Assembly for a year group or key stage.
    This will take place during the week beginning 15th December 2025 — a brilliant way to round off the term with some high-energy, hands-on science!

    Our parties are very hands-on and children get to make and take home their own slime! They wear Lab coats and goggles !

    • We bring our AMAZING science experiments to your child’s party. Explosions & Potions.  Children are enthralled by Punching Slime & Stretchy disgusting slime making, Give Barbie a hair-raising experience on a Van Der Graff generator Lighting lightsabres with a plasma ball! Hand-Boilers, bubbling, foaming Elephant Toothpaste reaction. Shoot giants smoke rings at each other with fabulous giant Smoke Cannons. To top off the fun, our famous mentos and Coke Geysers shooting 20 feet in the air! We clean up any mess and leave your home or venue as we found it! Hassle free booking.     Please note, Halloween, half term and Easter camps in Birmingham are for one day whereas the Summer camps are for a whole week of STEM practical fun!

    Helpful Info for Science Camp Parents

    What Should My Child Bring?

    • A packed lunch (please no nuts, as we aim to be allergy-aware)

    • A drink – science can be thirsty (and hungry) work!

    • No glass containers, and please note we do not have facilities to heat food

    🧪 What Should They Wear?

    • Science can get messy – please don’t send your child in their best clothes!

    • We provide a lab coat for each child to protect their clothes during activities.

    💳 Do You Accept Childcare Vouchers?

    • Unfortunately, we cannot accept childcare vouchers. As we operate at multiple venues and run various events, we’re unable to meet the administrative requirements for voucher schemes. We’re sorry for any inconvenience and appreciate your understanding.

    Cancellation Policy

    In the unlikely event that you need to cancel your booking, we will issue a refund.

    Please note that cancellations must be made at least 48 hours before the event in order to be eligible for a refund. The booking system’s admin fee (charged at the time of booking) and a small £5 administration charge will be deducted from your refund to help cover processing costs.

    We do our very best to keep these charges as low as possible while still keeping our events running smoothly for everyone.
