At Junior Einsteins Science Club®, we often talk about fun, hands-on STEM learning — but sometimes, what we offer is something even more powerful: a moment of transformation.

Ciara’s 9-year-old daughter wasn’t interested in science. In fact, she only agreed to come to our camp because of the slime.

But something clicked.

By the end of the week, she was completely gripped. She came home talking about tectonic plates, how Greenland was formed, lightning, bees, oil spills, and explosions — sharing scientific facts for an hour over dinner. Every detail was accurate. Some of it, her parents didn’t even know.

Then came the questions:

“Are there schools where I can study only science?” “What can I study in university?” “How much do scientists earn?”

And then the clincher: she planned to dress up as a dead scientist for Halloween.
