Spotlight on Junior Einsteins Science Club Franchise owner Anna Sudická in Carlow and Kilkenny Ireland!
What inspired you to become a Junior Einsteins franchisee?
“As a child, due to family circumstances, I didn’t get to study sciences on high school or university level, though I loved STEM in primary school. When I first heard of Junior Einsteins Science Club and heard Tracey Jane talking about the events so passionately, I realised that this was what I wanted to do, my dream job. To show kids how much fun science is, to educate the next generation and give them a chance I never had – I think I finally found my place in life.”
What do you love most about hosting Junior Einsteins events?
“This is an easy one – working with children, showing them something extraordinary, contributing to the development of their thinking – all of that with the laughs and excitement of the children, discovering how much fun learning can be! What’s not to love? I especially love birthdays, where the birthday child is so proud to be the helper, the scientist, the one who does the experiment! An empowering moment.”
What impact do Junior Einsteins events have on children and their families?
“Parents sometimes tell me that their child is trying to fit in with other groups and peers, but once they come to the club and find like-minded people who they can share their passion with, that all changes. They find a place to belong. The best moments are when the parents tell me that the child will not stop asking follow-up questions regarding what we talked about, which shows how important our work is – to encourage children on their own way of understanding the world!”
Why would you recommend Junior Einsteins events to parents?
“Junior Einsteins events are so much fun, but they are also very different from the standard events – the wow effect of an experiment and the profound change in the child’s understanding of the world is so obvious. Children realise that asking questions is super exciting and that finding the answers is even more so. I think everyone deserves a chance to see this. So often the parents are just as amazed as children!”
